Once I told it where to update this adapter driver in the folder I had just loaded, Boom, it was updated and I had finally have internet thru my newere router. This is a critical step not mentioned elsewhere in this forum. You want to update the Atheros adapter but you want the computer search to be in the folder where you just loaded the adapter update. Then open up the Control Panel, click on Device Manager and clicked on the + for Network Adapters. Took that drive over to my laptop and downloaded it into a folder.
