Bummer I know, we've been dealing with it for years but it's still better than export/import.Īs promised, I'm coming back with some news. The data is still there, you'll just have to go to each workstation and make the necessary adjustments to get them visually all in sync. It only maintains this through an export/import.

Autodesk for some reason isn't smart enough to have the Tool Palettes update the organization and group hierarchy. That's why everyone else needs to be read only, so that you (assuming you are considered the CAD Manager) are the only one who is in control of the additions and/or changes to the Tool Palettes. This means, if another user has AutoCAD opened, and closed the program AFTER you have made the changes, they will overwrite the new additions you just made.

If everyone has full permissions then if you make changes to the Tool Palettes the files are not written until you close the session of AutoCAD.

No you don't need to "try" it, you need to "do" it. Need to try to do it and see if it helps. We have not setup network drive for "read-only" mode. Also, when new tools are added, they are located on network computers to the bottom of the palette. For example, if the issue is experienced in AutoCAD Architecture (US Imperial) profile, switch to AutoCAD Architecture (US Metric) and then switch back to AutoCAD Architecture (US Imperial). We have setup done this way, but some tool palettes are not updating without deleting and importing. See: Recommended uninstall and reinstall procedures for AutoCAD.

Many palettes can be enacted by a button on the ribbon, a menu item, a keyboard shortcut, or a command on the command line. Check using an alternate method of displaying the palette. No accidental resizing of the palette should happen.Probably on the first-time docking, the palette's width issue (being very narrow) will appear. The palette will change size once docked.Depending on text scale % and display resolution, the snapping aperture might vary in size. The default location is in the following folder: For the tool palette, edit the AWS file to change its coordinate location:.Note: Toggling the Orientation and Docking settings above 'Docked' and 'Yes,' respectively, may help to get the palette to show. Using the Properties palette as an example, follow these steps: Palette Display Position (X, Y) is Off-Screen
